Exporting Life Sciences and Healthcare to Latin America
24th October 2018 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am
Have you considered exporting your Life Sciences or Healthcare product or service outside of the UK? Are you already an experienced exporter looking for new market opportunities?
Latin America has a population of 650 million, where chronic diseases are the leading cause of death and an estimated 21.1% of the population will be over 60 years old by 2040. Comprising of 33 countries, the diversity of Latin America means there are huge opportunities for companies across the Life Sciences and Healthcare spectrum.
Led by Amy Lambert, Market Manager for Life Sciences in Latin America at the Department for International Trade (DIT) with DIT East of England, this breakfast meeting will discuss the opportunities Latin America presents and why it should be included in your company’s export strategy. Amy will provide practical advice on how to start approaching the Brazilian and Mexican markets.
The UK is a world leader in life sciences, with revenue from exporting medicinal and pharmaceutical products totalling £22bn in 2010. However only 3.2% of these goods were exported to Latin America. With healthcare expenditure at 7.7% of GDP and an appetite for British goods and services, the demand is there so you should be too.
