Ultimotive from Colchester was recognised as one of the UK companies contributing to the Formula 1 70th Anniversary Grand Prix by the Department for International Trade (DIT).
Established in 2003, Ultimotive is a family-run business that develops, markets and supplies chemical cleaning products for the global automotive industry. The company supplies to major brands including F1 teams, MotoGP and Michelin, was awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2019.
Minister for Exports Graham Stuart, said:
“Since the first race at Silverstone 70 years ago, the UK has contributed so much to Formula 1 on and off the track. The UK is not just home to the reigning world champion, but also the majority of teams’ headquarters, which is testament to our world-leading motorsport industry.”

Ultimotive exports to 15 countries, with exports accounting for 30% of the company’s annual turnover. In 2019, the company secured a new contract with Qatar Airways, with support from the Department for International Trade.
